Naked Swingers
June 27th, 2009 by adminSeveral people wrapped in only bedsheets and towels were forced to flee a fire Friday at a Montreal swingers’ club.
Firefighters climbed ladders and smashed windows to rescue five people, including patrons and club employees, who were trapped on the building’s second floor.
The fire broke out at about 6:30 a.m. ET in the basement of Auberge 1082, located on Rosemont Boulevard near Christophe Colombe Avenue.
“They have the sauna in the basement and rooms on the second floor,” said Gilles Ducharme, the Montreal fire department’s chief of operations. “It’s an adult club. And we had 10 person[s] inside at that moment, three employees and seven customers.”
Five others escaped on their own and were standing outside when firefighters arrived shortly after 6:30 a.m., a spokesman for the city’s fire department said.
The appearance of the barely dressed victims surprised neighbours on the street.
“They had sheets on them but they didn’t have a lot of clothes on coming down (the ladder),” said fire department spokesman Gilles Ducharme.
“I don’t know how many of them were not dressed, but there were a few of them - maybe five or six - that had only sheets on them.”
“When they broke down the window, we could barely breathe. We came out, we were in a robe because, you know, it’s a swingers’ club,” said one client.
A neighbour in a nearby apartment, who also refused to be named, witnessed the evacuation from his window and said it was a sight to behold with people running out in towels, half naked in the street.
Six people, including the five on the second floor, suffered minor smoke inhalation.
One bathhouse client said she’s grateful to the firefighters.
“I had minor cuts due to the glass and me and three other people needed oxygen, but we’re fine. Basically we’re fine and we’re alive.”
The clients and staff members were given shelter on a fire department bus while 60 firefighters took an hour to bring the basement blaze under control.
Ducharme said ambulance attendants treated six people at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
The swingers club has several rooms on the second floor and a sauna in the basement, an area that sustained around $75,000 in damage, Ducharme said.
The fire department is investigating.
“It seems accidental,” he said. “It probably (started in) the heating system of the sauna

Mineola Swingers Club Case
June 27th, 2009 by adminThe trial of Dennis Boyd Pittman, the fourth defendant in the Mineola Swingers’ Club case, is set July 20 in 241st Judge Jack Skeen Jr.’s court.
Pittman, 46, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child in connection with his alleged involvement the case where young children were forced to dance and perform sexual acts for an audience.
The victims include three siblings, who at the time of the outcries in 2005 were a 7-year-old girl, a 6-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl. The siblings’ aunt, who was 6, also was allegedly forced to dance and have sex with the other children.
Six people were indicted on multiple felony charges, including Pittman, Shauntel Mayo, her boyfriend Jamie Pittman, 36, and Patrick Stephen Kelly, 41, all of Tyler; Shelia Darlene Sones, 48, Mineola; and her husband Jimmy Dale Sones, 33, Brownsboro.
On March 27, 2008, Jamie Pittman was convicted by a Smith County jury of aggravated sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to life in prison.
Mayo, 29, also received a life sentence from May 8, 2008, from a jury.
Kelly was found guilty Aug. 21, 2008, of engaging in organized criminal activity and sentenced to life in prison for conspiring with other adults to force two young siblings to have sex with each other for a paying audience

Secretly a Swinger
June 27th, 2009 by adminHow many swingers are there in the Tampa Bay area? Do you work, go to school, or work out at the gym with a swinger? Truth is, everyone probably does. I have encountered many people at swinger clubs that I have known from other parts of my life, my “vanilla” life. Sometimes these encounters are uncomfortable, but mostly the moment ends with a laugh and a smile.
Encounter #1
It’s Friday night and we are walking into a local swinger club. A line of people has formed to pay the cover charge. Each time the door opens everyone steals a glance at the next couple who walk in the door. We are up to pay and the door opens again. To our surprise, in walks Biff and Belinda. Both worked recently with Soccer Dad and upon recognition the two look like a pair of deer caught in the headlights. Moments later the two tear out the door with less than a hello. We are all here for the same reason - we saw you, you saw us, why run?
Encounter #2
We are with a group of people in a private room at a club. People are having sex on the beds, chairs and the floor. I look up and across the room (this room is not big) is Justin from my last ethics class in school. I slap him on the arm and say hey Justin! He looks back at me, a bit perplexed and embarrassed and utters, “Uhhh, hi.” Awkward? Maybe for him, but comical to me. We finish the evening and exchange niceties on the way out the door.

We arrive at a local swingers club with another couple, Bill and Betty (they demand a whole post of their own). As we make our way to the bar, just past the dance floor, I see a guy on the dance floor that looks familiar. I watch him for awhile and realize I know him from the gym. It’s Kevin, I go to talk to him and his girlfriend for a bit before I return to my group. We move to the private area for some fun (Soccer Mom, Dad, Bill and Betty). We begin to play, but some issues with Bill leave me dissatisified (stay tuned for that chronicle). Long story short, I leave Bill and move on where I might find some action. I hear Kevin and his girl in another room and knock on the door. They invite me in to join the fun. No awkwardness here, just a good time!
Encounter #4
It’s Thursday evening and we are arriving in the parking lot of the elementary school for a choir concert. Many parents are getting out of their cars to go inside the auditorium. I see a couple parked a few rows over who look quite familiar, but I don’t know them from school. I remember seeing them at the local swingers clubs and on a swingers’ website. I look at them and they look at me with the same recognition and we both nod. Nothing further needs to be said.
Encounters such as these don’t occur that often. The secrecy of the lifestyle makes many feel uncomfortable when caught by people outside what was thought of as a private circle. Even though we all belong to this same secret club, some just don’t want to share with everyone
