October 21st, 2009 by David EvansFace-to-Face Socializing Starts With a Mobile Post . I am slightly obsessed with Foursquare . “Foursquare lets users “check in” with a cellphone at a bar, restaurant or art gallery. That alerts their friends to their current location so they can drop by and say hello.” I’ve talked about Brightkite and Loopt, similar services which have more members but don’t have the addictive nature of Foursquare.

When I signed up, I was asked if I wanted to join the newbies lounge. Why don’t more dating site offer this kind of a forum for new members? It’s unclear what damages Tele-Publishing is seeking. More info on the Boston Business Journal website. My first sysadmin, who is now an engineer at Twitter, built the first iteration of the Phoenix’s online dating site. An institution here in New England, the Phoenix has a storied past. Its sad to see them resort to these kinds of tactics. I highly doubt they have any chance of extracting cash from Facebook, seems like a desperation move based on a patent that many are skeptical of
